I was first drawn to Hilti for the premium brand that they are. I quickly learned what else they have to offer, like an entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to developing their people.
 
Right across the business, there’s a palpable passion for working with our customers and a strong culture of getting things done, especially in sales.
 
I joined Hilti on the Outperformer program, and I’ve seen first hand how open they are to flexible career paths, whether it’s from sales to HR, or HR to marketing, or all the way back again! Personally, I’ve enjoyed developing the business from various different angles, first as a sales manager and more recently as HR business partner.
 
Right now I want to help move things along globally, and my current role lets me do that by developing and implementing Hilti’s global learning strategy. Developing people is the most rewarding thing.

I started my career with Hilti as an electrician apprentice in Plant 4 Thüringen. I grew up just ten minutes away from Plant 4, so Hilti was an obvious choice. The company had an excellent reputation in every way – including its apprenticeships. At school, I was more practical than academic, so this was the perfect career start for me. Twenty years on, I’m a Hilti ‘sherpa’ in different organizations and countries.
 
Hilti has always been great at giving me opportunities to progress, with various training programs and courses including an MBA in general management. The business theory is a useful complement to my practical experience, and the combination has given me solid acumen for every new role. It’s important to see business areas other than the one you’re involved in.
 
I love working with people and helping them develop, both professionally and personally. Everyone gets that opportunity at Hilti – to grow your career and grow as a person. It’s all part of developing our company culture as a whole.
