Hilti for me is all about the exchange of experiences between the different people in the company. It is a truly international company; we are all so different, but at the same time we all understand each other.
I joined Hilti back in Israel almost 2 years ago; spent my first year and a half as a repair technician in the Tel Aviv Tool Service Center (TSC), in the Heavy Diamond Tools group. This was a fascinating experience, to get to touch in a very technical way what I’ve been studying in classrooms over the previous years. This experience in the TSC has helped me develop so much in such a short time, in a professional and personal way. I then moved to Kaufering, Germany as a Project Manager, Tool Service Engineering, to face new challenges and grow more in both ways again. I’m looking forward to my next step whatever and wherever it might be.
All my experiences in Hilti so far have just justified my reason for choosing the company to start my career path. I wanted to work for a company that has strong values, is focused on people development and offers numerous career paths.
In Hilti no matter where you are and what your role is, everybody is working towards a common goal, and truly supporting and listening to each other along the way. I’ve met so many different people from different backgrounds in such a short period, and they have all influenced me in a way.
I can’t wait for more!
“Career development, if you want to progress, is highly relevant in everyday conversations at Hilti. Leaders are available everywhere and are always encouraging you to take the next step."
I started my Hilti journey as an intern in 2015. During my interview, I was promised true, hands-on project management experience, and my internship did not disappoint. During the ten-week program, I learned about Hilti, met lifelong friends, and worked on a project relevant to my studies. At the end of my internship, I was offered and accepted a full-time role within logistics. As a Materials Manager, I led a logistic project that included phasing in and phasing out a large quantity of products. The project took over a year, including preparation and execution. Seeing it completed was the high point in my career so far. One of the most rewarding experiences I have had since joining Hilti has been participating in the Emerging Leaders Program. The program allowed me to collaborate on a challenging project with a cross-functional team, all while being mentored by senior leaders. Many factors have contributed to my great experience since starting at Hilti. The internship program prepared me for early success by giving me a platform to build a network and knowledge base before joining. Upper management has been supportive from the beginning, and they have pushed me to continually challenge myself, take on new roles and improve processes. Now, I am stepping into a role that allows me to manage people, which presents new daily challenges, each of which help me grow as a person and as a professional. As I look back on my Hilti experience, I feel very lucky. I have learned many different facets of the business and experienced full product life cycles and challenging work.
It was easy to settle in here. In my second week, we had a Hilti orientation, where I met a girl who’s a product manager in head office, so it was great to make connections beyond my immediate work. To get to know more than just logistics. We have lots of socials and dinners, plus we also have fun at work.
In just six months of joining Hilti as a graduate, I was managing three different projects, two of them at quite a high level. It was just the kind of challenge I was looking for.More than three years in, I’m still being challenged every day, which I love.
Hitli has gone above and beyond what a company needs to do inorder for me to fulfil my personal needs which was shown when I after 2,5 years in UK stood between a choice of a job I love and missing my family and friends back home. The solution they came up with was better than I could've expected and I got the best of both worlds, my current role but in my home country.
I’ve always been ambitious, so I wanted a company that could give me that drive, that push to leave your comfort zone and do your best. You might not feel ready for it, but at Hilti they trust you to be ready, which is empowering in itself. They want you to use your initiative, to learn from trial and error, to make mistakes. You’ll always get support when you need it.
As for logistics my job is great for learning how everything’s connected – materials, transport, warehouse – and it’s really a lot of fun. The most important thing is teamwork. All the elements of logistics rely on each other, so we’ve got to work together. That’s not a problem when the teams are this amazing.
